Time is running out to get a 10% tax reduction

Want to take advantage of a 10 percent reduction on your capital gains taxes? The time to act is now. Your chance to invest in an Opportunity Zone Fund (OZF) disappears December 31, 2021. That means you are only eligible from now until the end of the year to invest and be eligible for a 10 percent basis step-up before the IRS deadline.

Investors still have a few months to take advantage of a major OZ tax-saving opportunity. Opportunity Zones offer three primary tax
incentives.

  1. Defer taxes on realized capital gains until December 31, 2026

  2. Reduce capital gains taxes owed on the original capital gain
    event by 10 percent

  3. Eliminate federal taxes on profits earned on an OZF investment if
you hold your investment for 10 years

If you’ve had a capital gains event, there is no reason not to take advantage of the 10 percent reduction in capital gains taxes by investing in an OZF by the end of the year. After December 31, 2021, the program is ending and the chance to save will be gone.

Contact us today to speak to an OZ Fund Hub representative and learn more about how you can benefit from investing in an OZF today.
